about

"The Avalanche" is one of the more recent songs on EPP. It originated from the simple chorus melody that I then tinkered with a bit and which I subsequently added verses and an intermediate part. The content of the song deals with the end of a relationship and the fear of taking the last step to exactly this end. The song was written during the first lock-down, when many relationships were put to the test.

lyrics

We didn't realize that we've been torn in two
Now look at us, shattered on the floor

But it's about to end, don't let it ever get you down again
Let the avalanche take you down to the valley
Hold my hand. Does it make you feel good again?
Let the avalanche roll over our bodies until there's nothing left

Let's stop to pretend that the reason why we feel bad
is something but ourselves
now look at us, shouting at the top of our lungs

When it's about to end, don't let it ever get you down again
Let the avalanche take you down to the valley
Hold my hand. Does it make you feel good again?
Let the avalanche roll over our bodies until there's nothing left

When did all the silence turn into violence?
When did all the patience turn into hate?
